Standard Catalog

Standard Catalog Overview

The OneSource IT Standard Catalog feature lets you bundle products into standard configurations that include related components and accessories (such as computer, memory, drive and monitor combinations). These standard product configurations are listed in a Standard Catalog that can be designed to reflect the procurement conventions of your organization.

Ordering a configuration from the Standard Catalog is more efficient and convenient than searching for and ordering each of the bundled items separately. You access the Standard Catalog by clicking Standard Catalog in the Shop box in the Main Menu, or by clicking the Standard Catalog quick-access button in the Home page.

Your organization's Standard Catalog can have unlimited categories and subcategories, with any number of standard configurations within each subcategory. You can specify exactly how your Standard Catalog will appear, from the high-level hierarchical structure to the features and information displayed for each line item in a configuration.

To build or edit your Standard Catalog, contact your ePlus Sales Representative. For more information about how a standard configuration can be customized to meet your needs, see Standard Configuration Options.

Standard Configuration Options

Your ePlus Sales Representative can customize your Standard Catalog to reflect the requirements and business practices of your organization. In addition to setting up your Standard Catalog hierarchy and adding, removing and re-arranging configurations, your Sales Representative can select the following options for each line item:

Shopping the Standard Catalog

In the Standard Catalog, users shop for standard configurations by browsing the categories and subcategories, selecting a standard configuration, and then adding it to the shopping cart.

To shop the Standard Catalog:

1.     Click Standard Catalog in the Shop box located in the Main Menu. OneSource IT displays the Standard Catalog page. This page displays a folder hierarchy that contains products in standard configurations.

2.     Click on the plus signs to open folders and drill down to the configuration icons they contain.

3.     Click on a configuration icon to open the detail view of the configuration. The configuration may include multiple products, and may allow you to select from various optional products and order quantities.

4.     You can view the details of any product in the configuration by clicking the short description. From the product detail view you can return to the configuration detail view by clicking Return to Previous Page.

5.     To add items in the configuration to your shopping cart:

a.     Select the check box next to each product you want to order. If there is no checkbox next to the item, it is included by default and must be ordered with the configuration.

b.     Quantity for an item may be editable. If so, you may adjust the order quantity to suit your needs.

c.     Click the Add button at the bottom of the configuration page. Your products are added to the active cart. If you have no shopping carts, OneSource IT creates a new cart and adds the selected product(s) to it.
